Park City Winter Events 2026–27: Your Season Calendar from Main & Sky

Park City's 2026–27 winter season opens on Friday, November 20, and the calendar stays full straight through January. Historic Main Street lights up with life-size snow globes over Thanksgiving, both resorts are open by early December, and January brings two world-class competitions on back-to-back weekends: Shaun White's The Snow League and the FIS Freestyle World Cup.

If you're planning a luxury ski vacation around one of these moments, where you stay matters as much as when you go. Main & Sky sits at 201 Heber Avenue, steps from Main Street and the Town Lift, so you can stroll Main Street, ski to lunch, and be back in your suite before dinner. Here's what's happening in Park City this winter, month by month.

November in Park City: Opening Day and Holidays on Main month.

Park City Mountain Opening Day — Friday, November 20

Park City Mountain is targeting Friday, November 20, 2026, for opening day, a week ahead of Thanksgiving. Forecasts for a strong El Niño winter have locals hopeful for an early, snowy start. As always, the date and open terrain depend on conditions.
From Main & Sky, the Town Lift is a short walk away. That means no parking, no shuttle, and first chair is just minutes from your door.

Snow Globe Art Stroll — November 26 to January 4

Each holiday season, the Historic Park City Alliance and the Arts Council place life-size snow globes along Main Street, each designed by a Utah artist. This year's theme is "Holiday Lights," and the globes stay up from Thanksgiving Day through January 4, 2027. They glow after dark, making the stroll a natural after-dinner walk from the hotel.

December in Park City: Both Resorts Open for the Holidays

Deer Valley Opening Day — Saturday, December 5

Deer Valley Resort is targeting December 5 for its 2026–27 opening, in keeping with its first-weekend-of-December tradition. This season adds Hail Peak, a new high-speed quad, and roughly 200 more skiable acres in the East Village expansion. With both resorts spinning, a stay in downtown Park City puts you between them.
The Snow Globe Art Stroll stays up on Main Street through January 4, so holiday visitors can still wander among the glowing globes after a day on the slopes.

2027 NHL Winter Classic — December 31

Hockey fans can add a New Year's Eve day trip. The 2027 NHL Winter Classic, Utah Mammoth vs. Colorado Avalanche, plays outdoors at Rice–Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City on December 31. Then head back up the canyon to celebrate the new year on Main Street, where restaurants book up early.

January in Park City: Two Weekends of World-Class Competition

Shaun White's The Snow League — January 21–23, 2027

The newest headliner on Park City's winter calendar is The Snow League, the professional halfpipe league founded by three-time Olympic gold medalist Shaun White. Its Park City Mountain debut runs January 21–23, 2027, on a newly built 22-foot superpipe, the mountain's first since the 2019 World Championships. Expect Olympic champions, local favorites, live music, and fan experiences, with head-to-head finals on Saturday, January 23. Tickets are on sale now through The Snow League, starting at $10.
The event lands on the weekend long associated with the Sundance Film Festival, which moves to Boulder, Colorado, starting in 2027. That makes late January in Park City a brand-new kind of trip, built around action sports instead of film premieres.

FIS Freestyle World Cup at Deer Valley — January 28–30, 2027

The following weekend, Deer Valley hosts the Freestyle International, an FIS Freestyle World Cup stop with moguls, dual moguls, and aerials on the resort's 2002 Olympic courses. Spectating is free, and the evening competitions under the lights are a Park City classic. It's also a preview of what's coming: Deer Valley will host freestyle moguls and aerials at the 2034 Winter Olympics.
With The Snow League and the World Cup on consecutive weekends, a week-long stay from January 21 to 30 lets you see both.

Why Main & Sky Is the Base for Your Luxury Ski Vacation

  • Ski from town. The Town Lift carries you straight onto Park City Mountain, so opening day and Snow League weekend start without a car.
  • Rooms built for winter. Fully renovated rooms and suites pair warm, natural textures with modern design, and select suites offer private outdoor hot tubs and sweeping Wasatch views.
